Other costs may not be as much of an expense as I had previously thought. So to lower the cost of the whole trip, I would be willing to cut that a little shorter. The most important part of the trip is transportation. It is possible to drive to Mexico from Ohio, but i would not want to increase the total expense of my tip by wasting money on gas when I could just fly instead.
